SRIMANTA SANKARADEVA KALAKSHETRA COMPLEX AT GUWAHATI, ASSAM

Narrative Description of the Project :

A Cultural Complex, sponsored by Govt. of Assam, comprises of Sangeet Academy, Natya Academy, Sahitya Academy, Museum, Lalit-kala Acedemy, one 1,000 seated Auditorium, one 2,000 seated Open Air Theatre, Artists’ Village, Heritage Park and Staff Quarters of different categories on a plot of 24 acres. Artists’ Village is designed considering Tribal Architecture of six main tribes of Assam. The built-up area in 1st phase is about 1,50,000 sq.ft.This complex has become a tourist landmark in the state of Assam and highly acclaimed in intellectual circle as an outstanding example of heritage architecture.
